6. Orion DVD-2000

How to convert your Orion DVD-2000 player into a multi-region compatible machine

Note this hack may also work on other models by this manufacturer and the JMB DVD-3000 and Grundig GDV-211a

To convert this player to Multi-Region 

1. Power on your machine

2. Press the Stop, Open/Close, Skip Forward and Skip Backward buttons on your player simultaneously and hold down for 3 seconds 

3. A hidden menu should appear. Release the Stop, Open/Close, Skip Forward and Skip Backward buttons on your player 

4. Select Region Number from the hidden menu and choose the Free option. DO NOT make any selections from the Initialised 'Type' menu, this can leave your machine inoperable. If you do by accident, go back to this menu and select option 1. 

5. Exit the menu 

To convert this player to Multi-Region if the above doesn't work

1. Power on your machine

2. Press the Stop, Open/Close and Skip Forward buttons on your player simultaneously and hold down for 3 seconds 

3. A hidden menu should appear. Release the Stop, Open/Close and Skip Forward buttons on your player 

4. Select Region Code from the hidden menu and choose the Free option. DO NOT make any selections from the Initialised Type menu, this can leave your machine inoperable. If you do by accident, go back to this menu and select option 1. 

5. Exit the menu 

6. Your player should now power itself off 

To enter the Initialisation menu

USE AT YOUR OWN RISK

1. Power on your machine 

2. Press the Stop, Open/Close and Skip Backward buttons on your player simultaneously and hold down for 3 seconds 

3. A hidden menu should appear. Release the Stop, Open/Close and Skip Backward buttons on your player 

Important: Do not change the option in this menu from its initial value of 1, also entering this menu will remove the above hack.
 

7. Matsui DVD-110

How to convert your Matsui DVD-110 player into a multi-region compatible machine

Note this hack also works on the Schneider DVD-810 and Oritron Diamond DVD-200

To change the current region setting on this player 

1. Press the Menu button on your remote control

2. Press the 9 button on your remote control

3. Press the Open/Close button on your remote control, note the draw will not open 

4. Press the 5 button on your remote control

5. Press the Mute button on your remote control when presented with the region selection page

6. Press the OK button on your remote control when presented with the region selection page 

7. Press the Exit button on your remote control when presented with the region selection page 

8. The word ALL will appear on the screen and your player will now play discs from any region 

To enable VideoCD playback on this unit

1. Open the drive tray

2. Place any CD in the drive tray

3. Press the Stop button on your remote control

4. Press the Menu button on your remote control

5. Press the 9 button on your remote control

6 .Press the 1-ALL button on your remote control

7. Press the Open/Close button on your remote control

8. You should now be in a new menu in which you can enable VideoCD playback
 

8. Oritron DVD-600

To convert this player to Multi-Region

1. Press the Menu button on your remote control

2. Using your remote control, enter the code 1, 6 and 7

3. Press the Mute button on your remote control

4. Press the Okay button on your remote control 
 

9. Sampo DVD-560

How to convert your Sampo DVD-560 player into a multi-region compatible machine

Note this hack also works on the Sampo DVD-520, DVD-620, Encore DV-450, X-Wave LB-900, Apex AD-600A and Afreey LD-2020 and LD-2060 amongst others

To convert this player to Multi-Region on newer firmware 

Press the Setup button on your remote control

Press the buttons 3, 8, 8, 8 and 3 on your remote control

You will now enter the hidden setup page, and can change the player to any Region or set it to Region Free

To convert this player to Multi-Region if the above does not work

Press the Setup button on your remote control

Press the buttons 3, 7, 7, 7 and 4 on your remote control

You will now enter the hidden setup page, and can change the player to any Region or set it to Region Free
 

10. Wharfedale M5

How to convert your Wharfedale M5 player into a multi-region compatible machine


To convert this player to Multi-Region

Press the Setup button on your remote control

Press the buttons 6, 2, 8, 3 and then 6 on your remote control in order, one at a time

In the Regions Setting - Factory Menu page where you can set a specific region or choose All for multi-region playback

Press the Setup button on your remote control to exit the menu

If the preceding hack fails to work

1. Press the Setup button on your remote control

2. From the menu, select the Restore Factory Defaults option

3. Repeat the hack shown above as normal
 

11. Aiwa XR-DV370KN

How to convert your Aiwa XR-DV370KN player into a multi-region compatible machine. 

To convert this player to Multi-Region playback

1. Press the Pause button on your remote control

2. Using your remote control enter the code 3, 1, 4, 1, 5 and 9 Note: If your unit does not enter the following mode which enables you to enter a region code, repeat steps 1 and 2. You may need to enter these codes in a shorter time span for them to work.

3. Press the 0 button on your remote control for Region free, 1 for Region 1 or 2 for Region 2.

4. Press the Pause button on your remote control 5. Power off your player and wait a few seconds 6. Power on your player.
 

12. X-Wave LB900

How to convert your X-Wave LB900 player into a multi-region compatible machine

To convert this player to Multi-Region

1. Press the Setup button on your remote control

2. Scroll the cursor down to the Preferences option

3. Press the Step button on your remote control

4. Press the F-FWD button on your remote control

5. Press the F-BWD button on your remote control

6. You should now be in the Miscellaneous menu

7. Press the Pause button on your remote control

8. Press the Stop button on your remote control

9. Using the Key button on your remote control, change the region indicated on the display to 0

10. Press the Power button on your player to place it into standby mode

11. Press the Power button on your player again to wake it from standby mode

12. Press the Play button on your player
 

13. Samsung SV-DVD3E DVD-VHS combo player

How to convert your Samsung SV-DVD3E DVD-VHS combo player into a multi-region compatible machine.

Always perform a Cold Start before applying the hack below

1. Power on your player

2. Press and hold both the Play and Stop buttons on the player NB: If the above does not work, then press and hold the Play and Forward buttons on your player instead

3. After a short while the words No Disc should disappear from the onscreen display. Release the Play and Stop buttons on the player

4. In some cases you may now need to turn your player off and then back on

To convert this player to Multi-Region playback

1. Press the Subtitle button on your remote control

2. Press the Repeat button on your remote control NB: If the hack does not work then repeat it WITHOUT performing this step

3. Using your remote control enter the code below, note that you must know what Region your player is currently set to in order to know which code is appropriate for

• Region 1 use 2, 9, 3, 3 and 4

• Region 2 use 3, 8, 7, 6 and 7

• Region 3 use 5, 6, 7, 3 and 2

• Region 4 use 7, 6, 8, 8 and 4

• Region 5 use 5, 3, 8, 1 and 4

• Region 6 use 2, 4, 4, 6 and 2

4. A code should be displayed on the screen indicating the current Region setting of your unit.

5. Press the 9 button on your remote control for Region free, or 1 for Region 1, 2 for Region 2 and so on.

6. Press the Open button on your player

7. Press the Standby button on your remote control

To reset the machine to its factory defaults

1. Power on your player

2. Press and hold the FF and REW buttons on the player for three seconds

3. The firmware version will be displayed and the machine reset to its original configuration
 

14. Scan SC-2000

How to convert your Scan SC-2000 player into a multi-region compatible machine

Note this hack also works on the Daewoo DQD-200 / DHC2200, DHC2300, Logix DVD-3000 and Manhattan DVD-2000

To convert this player to Multi-Region on later firmware versions

1. Press the Open button on your remote control

2. Press the Setup button on your remote control

3. Press the 9 button on your remote control for Region Free, or 1 for Region 1, 2 for Region 2, and so on.

4. Press the buttons 2, 0, 1 and then 0 on your remote control in order, one at a time NB: If this doesn't work, you should try pressing the buttons 3, 0, 1 and then 0 instead NB: If this still doesn't work, you should try pressing the buttons 4, 0, 1 and then 0 instead

5. Press the Step button on your remote control

6. Press the Shuffle button on your remote control

7. Press the Next button on your remote control T

To check the current region setting of this player on later firmware versions

1. Press the Open button on your remote control

2. Press the Setup button on your remote control

3. Press the Shuffle button on your remote control

4. Press the Step button on your remote control

5. Press the Next button on your remote control

6. A secret menu will appear, inside which you can scroll down until the words Debug Item appears, where the current region status is displayed

To fix low sound output volumes when connecting to your TV via SCART on later firmware versions

1. Press the Setup button on your remote control

2. Press the Stop button on your remote control

3. Press the Step button on your remote control

4. Press the Angle button on your remote control

5. The word RFOUT will appear on screen briefly and the sound will now have been adjusted to normal levels

6. A secret menu will appear, inside which you can scroll down until the words Debug Item appears, where the current region status is displayed

To convert this player to Multi-Region on earlier firmware versions

1. Press the Setup button on your remote control

2. Press the Title button on your remote control

3. Press the Step button on your remote control

4. Press the Next button on your remote control

5. Using the Up and Down buttons on your remote, select the region of your choice or Bypass for region free

6. Save and then Exit the menu
 

15. Hyundai DVD-320A

To change the region on this player on newer models

1. Using your remote control, press the buttons 7 and 7, in order, one at a time

2. Press the Play button on your remote control

3. You should now be in a hidden menu

4. Using the Up and Down buttons on your remote control, highlight the Country Code option

5. Press the Enter button on your remote control

6. Using your remote control, press the 1 button for region 1, 2 for region 2, and so on, or 0 for multi-region playback

7. Press the Enter button on your remote control

8. Press the Play button on your remote control

To change the region on this player on older models

1. Press the Open/Close button on your remote control to open the disc tray

2. Press the 3 button on your remote control

3. Press the 8 button on your remote control

4. Press the 0 button on your remote control

5. Press the 0 button on your remote control

6. Press the Menu button on your remote control

7. Using the arrow buttons on your remote control, change the region to 1 for region 1, 2 for region 2, and so on
